Phoenix
We're getting set to head to Palm Springs after a week in Phoenix. I was actually quite excited, at the end of work, to be spending a couple of weeks in Phoenix and Newport with nothing to do, but it seems like this week flew by with a lot of little chores to get ready to go. I think we did them all, we're leaving a lot of stuff with Chelsey's parents here so I hope they don't mind. I got all my stuff packed last night, but the suitcase is quite heavy so I will probably unload when I get to Newport and try to trim it down a bit.
We finished work last Friday. It was a bit sad for me, I worked with those people for as long as I was in college. Some, like Richard, helped me a lot in my first job, figuring out what I was supposed to do. Mario, too, was great to work with, I definitely wouldn't have stayed so long in El Centro if working in sports wasn't so much fun. It was probably time to move on from there because I never intended to stay forever, but it was a little bit sad nonetheless.
We've also had a good week in Phoenix, in addition to packing. Chelsey got to see a couple of her friends before we left, ones that I had not met, and they were nice. We drove up to Sedona one day and went for a beautiful hike (only having to dodge a couple of raindrops) before meeting Rhiannon for dinner. I went to my first spring training game, where the Angels played their backups and lost to the Giants. And we had a nice combined pre-birthday party with Chelsey's parents and her brother and sister-in-law. Excellent times.
Now we hit the road to Palm Springs en route to Newport. It should be good, and I think we have a little less to do now than we did in Phoenix.
