Downshifting

We're sort of unwinding this week, after a very busy weekend. Friday was Kim's wedding, which was a great success by all accounts. The bride and groom looked very happy, which of course is the best measure of success. Saturday all of our family, minus Kim and Michal, came over to Mom and Dad's house for a barbeque, which was a lot of fun. It was a good chance to catch up with all my relatives, since I hadn't seen any of them for at least a year, and much longer in some cases.
Sunday we drove up to Venice Beach - with the family again. We had a good time at the beach. We got in some swimming, some boogey boarding, some sunburns and a lunch with less-than-speedy service. We even drove up to Santa Monica for a bit, but didn't stay too long because there were a lot of people there, which dampened the appeal.
Now everyone's gone home except Grandma and Granddad, so it's a little quieter around here. This is allowing us to recover from a pretty hectic weekend. Unfortunately, it also lays the stark reality of a job search in front of us.
