Best books

The New York Times Book Review published their 10 best books of the year this week - although it won't appear in the print version until Dec. 14. I haven't read any of the books; I really haven't read any new books this year, I've just been catching up on old reading. Some of them look pretty interesting, though. I know Robert Bolaño's 2666 has a lot of buzz around it, but I think Julian Barnes' Nothing To Be Afraid Of sounds the most interesting from the descriptions printed.
