Phoenix
We made in safely to Phoenix. We had an interesting morning at the Buffalo airport. We arrived early for our 10 a.m. flight, checked in, went through security (where they went through our backpack because of a padlock inside), got to the gate and waited. Our plane pulled up to the gate and unloaded, but then they told us that the brakes didn't work right, so we were going to be delayed. About an hour later they decided they couldn't fix our plane, so they cancelled our flight.
So, we had to go back out through the terminal, go collect our luggage and return to the Delta counter so they could try to put us on another flight. This was a painfully slow process that took a couple of hours. It was frustrating, but it could have been worse. Delta somehow managed to lose the luggage of the woman who was in line behind us, who was already having a tough time keeping her two small children entertained. I don't understand how you can lose luggage when you don't actually go anywhere, but I guess anything's possible with the airlines these days.
Delta was sending most of the people from our flight to the airport for the night and putting them on a flight the next day. Somehow, though, they got us on a Continental flight through Cleveland.
So, we had to go check in at the Continental desk and go back through security. This time we were both selected for the extra screening. They went through all of our bags and we had to stand in this box while they blew air on us.
The flight to Cleveland was rough. We were on a small plane and Jason was sitting next to a screaming baby, who also got sick while we were landing. We were happy it was a short flight.
On the flight from Cleveland to Phoenix, however, we were bumped into 1st class! What a way to fly! Big, comfortable seats, lots of leg room, free drinks and really good food.
