Holiday lights

Chelsey and I got to see some nice holiday light displays this year. On the advice of Chelsey's brother, we drove up one night to an area of Long Beach called Naples. It's actually an island in Long Beach Harbor, sort of a bigger version of Balboa Island in Newport. We drove onto the island, parked and started walking along the waterfront. We thought the lights were OK, but didn't understand what the big deal was. Then we got to the main canal. It was quite the spectacle, almost like a little Las Vegas along a canal in Long Beach. Although we didn't really realise it, we ended up walking almost the whole length of the canal before turning around. Another thing we hadn't realised was that the night we went was also the night of the local holiday boat parade. We got there too late to see the parade, but there were a ton of big parties on the canal front.
