First lesson
Sorry we didn't get this posted sooner, but it has been a little more difficult to "borrow" our neighbors' wireless networks recently.
We both survived our first lesson. I was able to sit in on Jason's and, although he was nervous, he did a great job. He has to teach his first full-length (50 minutes) lesson today. We teach the same group, but he goes on Monday/Wednesday and I go Tuesday/Thursday. For Jason's first lesson 9 of the 10 students showed up. I kind of planned on that for my lesson and was a bit rattled when only 4 came, but I made it work.
We really haven't had a chance to do much sight-seeing because the class is keeping us so busy. We get to school around 8:30 a.m. and won't be leaving until 6ish. Even then, when we get home we have reading/lesson planning to do.
I commented previously that grocery shopping was fairly difficult --- but another challenging task is actually making the food once we get home. Not only is the type of food in Czech, but all of the directions on how to make it are as well! So it's been hit-or-miss, but we've been doing a pretty good job.

Congrats on getting the first lessons out of the way!
As far as the food goes, just learn "burský ořech máslo a rosol". That'll cover you for at least a month.
