Ducks hockey, Part II
We went to our second Ducks game of the season last week, a matchup with the Calgary Flames. Both teams are in playoff spots at the moment, and it turned out to be a good game. The Ducks dominated much of the game, but trailed for most of it as well. The Flames were opportunistic to take 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but the Ducks managed to tie it early in the third. The game went to overtime, but matching roughing penalties at the end of the third period meant that it was 3-on-3 to start OT, so you had to figure a goal was coming sooner or later. It took less than a minute for Scott Niedermayer to win it for the home team - his second goal of the game. He still wasn't the game's first star, though; that was Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff.
There were also two real fights, as well as some skirmishes. Chelsey was bemused by the excitement the fights caused. The fans especially appreciated it because the Ducks won both bouts.
