finished week one

We both made it though the first week (and our first 50-minute lesson). This time I wasn't able to sit in on Jason's, but he says it went OK. I was very pleased with how mine went, although it really did take a long time to put it together. This gives me a whole new appreciation for how much extra work teachers do outside of the classroom.
Yesterday afternoon we walked around Prague with some of the other students in our class and visited various pubs around the center of the city. Jason and I tried our first Czech beer (Krusovice). It was definitely better than the beers we've had before, but we still aren't ready to become full-fledged beer drinkers. We plan to try all of them at least once, so we'll report back with each new beer and tell you how it ranks.
We have discovered how truly spoiled we were living in California with its no smoking rules. People here smoke all of the time and everywhere. I hate coming home at the end of the night and my hair, clothes, etc. all smell like smoke (thanks Kim for suggesting we bring some Febreeze with us, it's been a lifesaver).
