Czech-Mex

Chelsey and I went out to dinner last Friday night to a restaurant near us called Sonora. Mexican food is not so common here; even fast food imitations like Taco Bell have not appeared in Prague. Since Mexican's Chelsey's favourite, however, we thought we should try this place that one of our guidebooks said was the best Mexican food in Prague.
It was pretty good, but it wasn't exactly Mexican. When her students told her about Czech-Mex, Chelsey thought it was strange; after all, Czech-Mex is not as logical as, say, Tex-Mex. But Sonora was definitely Czech-Mex. My burrito more closely resembled a quesadilla, with meat and other filling between two flat tortillas, while Chelsey's chimichanga was also quite different from what I expect a chimichanga to look like.
As I said, the food was quite good, even if different from expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there; it was a cozy restaurant, with only a half-dozen or so tables, and the service and food was very good. When we get back to the United States, however, some authentic Mexican might be one of the first meals we seek out.

Ironically, I was in Mexico last week. I spent a week Monday night in Tijuana, then drove to Ensenada. In Ensenada, I picked up some bad mole and quivered in a fetal position in my bed Wednesday and most of Thursday, between trips to the bathroom. I'm still not right...

This isn't the same joint we scoped out one night last year, is it? I remember the American girl at the table behind us nagging incessantly.
