I'm a nut

Those of you who know me already know that I'm a bit crazy. I had to teach my first lexis (vocab) lesson today. The subject I had to use was compound nouns (workhorse, firepower, etc.). The material in the coursebook really wasn't very good. The words were not ones that people commonly use and they didn't have a common structure or topic. So, I opted not to use any of the material from the book, and I created my own lesson.
So I finished my lesson this afternoon, and I was honestly convinced that I didn't do a very good job. I felt like certain parts took too long and didn't leave enough time for others. When the trainer asked for our self-evaluation, I said that I didn't think that I'd done a good job and that my lesson had not been successful.
When it came time for him to critique me, he said he thought it was a solid lesson. In shock, I blurted out "WHAT?!?!" Then, he said that he hadn't seen many better lexis lessons, even from experienced teachers. Still in shock, I defiantly said "NO!" Then, I proceeded to have a bit of a breakdown. I really was expecting him to fail me (he's the trainer who fails everybody) and I was totally unprepared for what he said. I did have a few minor problems, but he said that it really was a very good lesson. I was quite shaken (even a bit teary -- though I'm going to chalk most of this up to exhaustion. I didn't sleep much last night). He started to laugh and said "I wonder what she'd do if I actually criticized her."
So there you have it, I'm a nut.

Instead of nut you should try calling yourself screwball or harebrained, which you could make sure to include in your lesson.

Josie wants to know if there are any Red PT Cruisers in Prague.

We ordered a webcam and hope to able to videoskype you shortly. Glad the lessons are going well!
