National Museum

Today we visited the National Museum. It's in Old Town at one end of Wenceslas Square. We actually bought a 3-day museum pass, so we are going to visit the national museum of music tomorrow.
The National Museum reminded me of the Smithsonian museum of Natural History (though it isn't nearly as big). There were exhibits with fossils, geodes, animal skeletons and real animals that have been stuffed. I was most amazed by the actual skeleton of a Fin Whale, which is the second-largest animal on the planet behind the Blue Whale. They had the skeleton suspended from the ceiling so you could walk under it. It was just amazing how big it was. I can't imagine swimming in the ocean and having one of those go by.
I've posted a picture of us on the steps outside of the museum. You can see Wenceslas Square behind us.

Josie (Chelsey's niece) wanted to know if they have red PT Cruisers in Prague. Well, we found a blue one, so I've also included a picture of Jason with the blue PT Cruiser for Josie. We'll keep looking for a red one.

Hey kids! Look at you jet-setters...museum hopping and whatnot. So excited for you! Happy 1 month abroad -- a little late. Chels, we missed you Sat nite -- it was Jenni's bachelorette party and made me remember mine :) Anyway, all your travels give me that itch to get outta town. Dust and I bought a Europe travel book -- we can't wait to plan our trip! He's busybusybusy w/ end of semester but we're doing well. Love you!
